Index funds

index funds

Index funds are a type of mutual fund or exchange-traded fund (ETF) that tracks a specific market index, such as the S&P 500 or the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Instead of trying to outperform the market, index funds aim to match the performance of the underlying index by holding a portfolio of stocks or bonds that closely resemble the index’s holdings and weightings.
